NP Kornati

The National Park was proclaimed in 1980 and then protected.

The total area of the park is about 220 km2 and consists of 89 islands, islets and cliffs. Only 1/4 of the are is land, the rest is sea ecosystem.

The area is rich in extremely important underwater life, but it is also valuable for its mainland flora and fauna. One of the phenomena of this area are steep cliffs - crowns on the south-western shoreline of the Kornati national park. We cannot leave out "the man" from this "story of kornati", whose coexistence with nature is reflected in modest, but impressive buildings ( piers, dry stone walls, olive groves, chapels), as well as their cultural and traditional heritage, Kornati attract numerous visitors who enjoy nature.

The most popular phenomenon of this park are vertical cliffs "of the Kornati islands, facing the sea side. Over the last few years, the Kornati have become a place where you will see some of the most beautiful yachts and sailboats ever sailing on the Adriatic. During the summer months, the crowd on Kornati island are huge, but there you can still find a bond or a place to anchor. There are several coves in the whole archipelago with a predominantly modest but excellent catering offer. Let`s dont be shy, the best gastro offer.

A standard tourist excursion departs at 9:00 am and returns at 6:00 pm in the afternoon. Trips usually consist of driving to Kornati, passing through Kornati archipelago, and lunch breaks with another or two pauses for swimming and sightseeing. Depending on the organizer, prices vary from 200 to 300 kuna per person.
