Main square in Betina

As with any place, especially smaller ones at sea, the squares are of great importance.

As with any place, especially smaller ones at sea, the squares are of great importance. They have since become a gathering place for the local population and later became the most attractive locations for tourists. In 2016, Betina got a fully refurbished town square that is just next to the popular Murter harbor, which, like the mouth (the Celtic "bet" of which Betina is named), keeps ships from the winds. A new monument to the Betina Square was erected as a monument to beton shipbuilders, a sculpture of a boy holding a ship, made by academician Robert Jozić. Considering that Betina is a cradle of wooden shipbuilding, the whole new square is made up of a kind of open-air museum devoted specifically to the bethany fishmongers.
